TiPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is a dynamic, skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking by enhancing the fundamental "people skills" of servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol.

TiPS gives individuals the knowledge and confidence they need to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and intervene to prevent alcohol-related tragedies.

You will learn:

• How to properly monitor your customers
• When, if, and how to cut someone off
• Your responsibility as a bartender
• How to spot fake ID's
• How to reduce alcohol-related accidents
• How to avoid selling alcohol to minors
• Advanced people skills
• And more

At the end of session, you will complete a multiple-choice exam. Don't worry. Our experienced instructors will make sure that you have all the knowledge you need to pass the test. Participants who pass the exam receive a certification card, which will be valid for three years.

Becoming TiPS-certified will make you much more employable by lowering the establishment's liability from 10% to 20%. Many states and cities now require that servers of alcohol be certified in safe and responsible alcohol handling. Becoming TiPS-certified opens up many more job opportunities for bartenders and also shows that you are a higher quality candidate for a job position.
